MEDITATION

MEDITATION

WHAT IS MEDITATION: Meditation takes us to divine inner world where one sees his true self

which is pure bliss. Meditation enhances our capability to be successful both in worldly and

spiritual field. It is like a wish-fulfilling Kalp Vrikish tree that grants all boons sought by a spiritual

aspirant. The dormant and latent energy of an individual is awakened and enhanced to its full

potential. Awakened energy thus works for his physical well being, personality, mental &

spiritual enhancement. The science of meditation takes an individual to the supreme state of

heightened awareness and develops in him his ultimate potentials. One gets pure and ultimate

bliss called Ananda. Then aspirant lives each moment of life truly. His life becomes a

celebration for all time.

ENTRY IN MEDITATION: For entering into meditation and to be successful, the most important

aspect is earnest yearning, true and realistic desire to have strong inner experiences and

earnest longing to transform life through meditation but under the directions of spiritual master.

There should be strong yearning and whole hearted attempt to get the results. The seeker then

starts getting sure answers to myriad puzzling queries.

START AND FINISH: Start after bowing before Sadguru and ask for his blessings. Enter

meditation after sitting before Sadguru’s picture or remembering him in heart. After completing

meditation session, thank again Sadguru with folded hands. Don’t leave Asana suddenly. One

should leave his seat after two to four minutes with peaceful mind. It enables to absorb and

assimilate energy generated during meditation. Water is sprinkled on the earth adjoining the

place of sitting but before getting up in order to prevent earthing.

DURATION: Five minutes practice is enough at the start stage of meditation but at a fixed time

and regularly. Gradually, keep on increasing this duration up to half an hour. Even in smaller

duration one should do it intensely, yearning, full concentration and with total steadfastness.

However, if the seeker starts having deeper experience, the duration could be increased as long

as possible.

SIGNS OF MEDITATOR: Meditation practitioner acquires smiling personality like a fully

blossomed flower and fills up his life with eternal beauty. He finds changes in his behavior. He

starts spreading love, peace, happiness and bliss around him and to the place he goes to. The

energy of meditation endows upon him and brilliance reflected in his attitude, eyes, smiles and

communication.

CLOTHES TO BE USED: Loose fitting but light colored clothes made of cotton or silk should be

worn. Clothes used during meditation should be kept separately in cotton bag not in polythene.

They should be clean, dirt free and pure and should be used only during meditation. The energy

that flows during meditation enters the clothes worn. It then facilitates to enter into meditation.

Dark and black colored clothes should not be used.

TIME FOR MEDITATION: The specific and best period for meditation is early morning i.e.

during three hours before sunrise when the entire atmosphere is permeated with peace. This is

the time to go deep into meditation. Great Sidhas, Saints, Sadgurus and Mahatmas do

meditation in this period called Brahm-mahurata. At this time, the whole atmosphere is filled with

rays of spiritual energy which ultimately helps in enhancing the practice of seeker. A person

doing meditation in such a favorable situation gets ample support. But at the same time, it is

absolutely necessary that one should fix time for sleep and take it adequately during night.

Otherwise mind would not be still during meditation. The time before sunset in the evening is

also considered good for doing meditation.

PLACE OF MEDITATION: It is preferable to meditate in Sukhasana or Sidhasna or Padmasna.

If due to health problem, these postures cannot be practiced, sit on the chair. Spinal chord

should be straight so that when energy flow is directed from spinal chord towards Sushmana

Nadi, the flow is channelized properly. There is mutual relationship between mind and steady

posture during meditation. Mind gets steadied once body gets steady and vice versa. It is not

necessary that during entire duration of meditation, body should remain in same posture. It

automatically becomes stabilized once regular practice is undertaken and when one

experiences higher state of meditation.

POSITION OF EYES: Eyes should be kept closed while entering into meditation. Upon closing

the eyes the energy is directed inside and is also helpful in inner journey. Our 75 to 80% energy

goes out through eyes only. Due to unsteady state of mind, if energy is not getting focused on

closing of the eyes, it is better to steady the mind first by opening the eyes and start focusing

either on the picture of master or some other picture or point. If getting sleep, open the eyes and

start concentrating. After sometime, gradually try to practice meditation with closed eyes. You

will start entering into deeper state.

STABILIZATION OF MIND: Inside the mind, when waves of thoughts become totally subdued

and ripple free, then only there is true entry into meditation. This stage does not come easily.

Several thoughts start manifesting and occupying, disturbing the peaceful stream of mind. You

are to replace worldly thoughts and focus on pure mind. Listen to divine music, sound of

mantras, Vedic chants etc to fill mind with purity and peace. Practice of Pranayama before

meditation also helps mind control. Initially mind becomes tired but gradually and eventually it

starts entering thoughtless state.

CONCENTRATION AND MEDITATION: Concentration starts once scattered energy is focused

in a specific direction. It could be on specific thought, point, person thing or place. It is

essentially the initial stage of meditation. One has to train oneself on the process of

concentration. Meditation starts only when the mind becomes thoughtless and still. That stage

is the true reflection of eternal beauty. Repeated and constant practice leads the seeker to

unwavering thoughts and free stage of meditation.

RELIEF IN DISEASES: Diseases enter mainly due to disharmony, impurities and

malfunctioning activities of body. Effective techniques of meditation help a great deal in getting

relief from diseases and mental ailments. The powerful energy generated by meditation burns

away impurities and helps in getting relief from physical ailments,, mental diseases, insomnia,

anxiety, phobias and depression etc. Medical scholars, researchers, scientists and Siddhas

have done experiments. They have yielded astonishing positive results. Science and spirituality

is helping each other in bringing revolution in the medical field.

FEELING SLEEPY: Lot of persons faces this problem of sleep during meditation. Body goes

into deep state of rest both during meditation and sleep. However, during meditation inner

consciousness and mind is fully awake but in sleep; both body and mind are not conscious.

Take adequate sleep during night. Start building real interest with earnestness, liking and strong

yearning in meditation. Methods used are also beneficial. Body should be kept fit through yogic

exercises and use only nourished balanced & easily digestible food so that the impurities get

destroyed.

RELATION TO SPECIFIC SECT: There dwells inside all human being, Supreme Lord called

Atman or soul. Meditation can be pursued by any person belonging to any sector or faith, be it

Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism or Buddhism. It is important to learn proper technique of doing

meditation. An aspirant is bound to find success once a right technique is followed, under the

guidance of meditation Guru. Past tendencies of course of an individual also play an important

part. Irrespective of any technique, common aim is to take seeker deep within him to such a

level that all religious beliefs do not count any more. Once in that stage, one gets

enlightenment and supreme bliss.

INTERFERENCE IN PROGRESS: Meditation does not pose hurdles in achieving goals in day

to day worldly life. By meditation one starts getting right perspective of events, happenings and

material progress. He succeeds in both material and spiritual field. He succeeds in opening up

new opportunities. It teaches to face with fortitude contrary to evading situations. As a result of

practicing meditation, success in world and ability to discharge responsibilities is easily

obtained.

CHANGES IN LIFE STYLE: Through practice of meditation, a person is transformed from

within and not externally. One advances in meditation by proper guidance, right technique and

regular practice. One does not have to forcefully adopt changes but they get manifested

effortlessly, gradually and in due course of time. Inner state makes an individual to choose

correct diet, proper behavior and correct life style. He achieves all round success in every field,

he undertakes. His whole being is enriched and the complete transformation becomes evident

to him. Change in attitude towards life and situations are needed more than the change in life

style.

GUIDANCE OF SATGURU: To pursue the path of meditation and its success is possible only, if

done under the divine presence and active guidance of spiritual master. During meditation, the

inner energy works at a very subtle level. It is very powerful. The Satguru is fully aware of

various impediments encountered during the inner journey. It is therefore absolutely necessary

to have unflinching faith and unwavering trust in the teachings and guidance of the master,

especially when entering higher stages of meditation. MEDITATION SATGURU ARCHNA DIDI

teaches us in a very scientific way, the best and right techniques of meditation. Such two

meditation workshops have been scheduled by Didi from 11 Aug to 13 Aug Aug 17 at Agarsen

Bhawan, Surat, Gujarat and 14 Sep to 17 Sep at Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Lajpat Nagar, New

Delhi.
